The Pitfalls of Spiritual Awakening

The Pitfalls of Spiritual Awakening Many people are becoming aware that there is more to life than we know and can see. A lot of them are starting to feel unfulfilled by the reality that has been created and presented to them. The career, status, and white picket fence don’t seem to bring the joy they thought it would. Many people are starting to realize that something is missing and they are starting to look within themselves to find that missing piece. This is the start of the spiritual awakening process. When people start to feel the peace that comes from within they usually want more and so they seek answers and ways to reach that state on a more consistent basis. There is a lot of information out there about awakening, but I find many of them are unsafe. I don’t talk about kundalini awakening, crystalline structure, 5D reality and whatever else elusive and intangible concepts are out there. Why? Because it’s tempting to grasp to concepts that feel good, but in reality, that is often a way of spiritually bypassing what is really going on within ourselves. You can’t speed up spiritual awakening. And you if try too …

3 Helpful Meditation Tools

3 Helpful Meditation Tools Sometimes we need a few meditation tools to trigger the body into an altered state of consciousness. There is nothing wrong with that and many have been used for centuries by Lamas, Gurus, Shamans, etc. because it works. 1 – Scent for Relaxation and Invocation Scents are a powerful way to put us into a trance. Incense has been used by many spiritual practices through time and in different ways. A scent helps you to anchor an experience. Let’s say your grandmother wore a rose perfume and you have wonderful memories of your grandmother. Now, whenever you smell roses it reminds you of your grandmother. The same kind of anchor, using scent, can be used for meditation. By using the same scent every time you meditate, your body will associate this scent with relaxation and meditation. You will then be able to access a meditative state more quickly. Sweet incenses such as Myrrh, Frankincense, Honey Amber, Patchouli, Sweetgrass work well. Essential oils of fragrant flowers like Ylang-Ylang, Geranium, Jasmine, Lavender, or Rose are also very lovely. You may have to try a few different scents to find the one that relaxes you most and induces a sense …

Is meditation frustrating you?

Is meditation frustrating you? Are you frustrated by your in-ability to meditate? I was too for many years and still is very often. But here is what I learn about starting a meditation practice. 1 – The monkey-mind is normal Do you experience even more mental distraction as soon as you sit down to meditate? It’s like a flood of ideas and information pours in suddenly when you couldn’t remember what you needed to do two minutes ago. Frustrating I know! Even more so, when you are trying to meditate to get clarity and find answers and you’ve been told they occur when the mind is still and quiet…. Persistence and patience are key. Even if you spend 5 minutes every day observing your monkey-mind, eventually it will quiet down. The best thing is to observe it and not engage it. Allow it to be there. Don’t get upset or impatient with yourself. 2 – Do it when it feels right I don’t know how many years I wasted not meditating because I was ‘trying’ to do it at 6 am. I’m not a morning person. I tried for many years and it left me frustrated every time. I’m amazed …

Daily Journal for Health

Keeping a Journal for Emotional Relief and Good Health Keeping a journal will help you to relieve the emotional stress you are facing in your everyday life. It will also help you track your emotional triggers. What got you upset during the day? Did you notice keywords or a specific environment that triggered the emotional stress? Keeping a journal might be the best way to dig deeper in your emotional turmoil and record your healing progress. Unless you bring a core belief of yourself up into the light, it is harder to understand why we do or think in a particular way. These core beliefs are usually hidden in our subconscious mind, directing our everyday action and reaction without us knowing. As you reflect on your day and on the emotions you felt thought the day, you will be better equipped to understand how and why you react to certain events and it will help you change what is not serving well. How to make a medicine bundle

How to make a medicine bundle What is a medicine bundle? A medicine bundle contains elements such as herbs, stones, symbols and support someone’s ability to heal, perceive and have protection from unseen energies. It’s a little pouch of elements that many Shamans and Medicine Woman carry close to their body. However, anyone can make and carry their own little medicine pouch. When we wear or use something with a specific intention, we move our consciousness on our desire and enlist our whole being in its manifestation. It can be a jewelry, a piece of clothing, or in that case a medicine bundle. It’s about using these elements with a conscious desire and recognizing the power these elements carry energetically. Choosing the purpose of your medicine bundle First, you want to think about what you want your medicine bundle to help you with. Do you want more protection from the negativity of other people? Do you want relief and healing of a certain condition? Do you want more love and harmony? Or to bring out a certain trait or attitude? Being clear with your goal will help you select the right elements for that purpose. What can go in a medicine bundle? …

One Day Vision Quest Infographic

One Day Vision Quest Infographic A traditional Vision Quest is taken by young indigenous boys as a rite of passage into adulthood. It is meant to guide them to the next step of their life and to fill them with courage and strength. Without taking away the depth and importance of this ceremony, we can draw upon the principle of the Vision Quest to help us in times of transition or soul-searching. Here is a checklist to help you plan a good and safe one day Vision Quest. 1 – Set Your Intention What are the answers you are looking for? Which questions do you need to ask yourself to help you navigate what you are going through? Open-ended questions, such as who, how, why, where are better than yes or no questions. Spirit will never tell you what to do, but can provide you with information not always readily available. Your intention and questions will determine the extent of the experience. Make sure you give this step plenty of time and attention. 2 – Set A Date Even though the Vision Quest will be only a day long, you want to make sure you will have plenty of time …

Insights from my Vision Quest

Insights from my Vision Quest Back in March I did a vision quest to help me get to the root of some issues I couldn’t seem to let go of. I also felt I needed time away by myself to connect with nature and her teachings. You do not need to go far away for that, it’s just easier to see when not distracted by to-do lists and imbued by other people’s energy. I spending the day by a lake in a remote area. I really had a great time absorbing the scenery, being awed by the beauty of the landscape and the peaceful rhythmic sound of the waves on the pebble beach. I even received my own power song from spirit. —> A personal power song can help you ground, focus, and connect you with spirit. It can also have healing properties. It is a song meant for you with a unique vibration that resonates with your soul. But the most powerful insight I got was on my way back home. And it’s something I did not expect in the least. It is simple, childish, fun and humorous but oh so right! It can lift you up in moments …

Vision Quest – How to connect with nature for profound insights

Vision Quest – How to connect with nature for profound insights What is a Vision Quest Back in February, I decided that I was going to do a Vision Quest in March. I didn’t have all the details, but I know I wanted to commit to the idea. You might be wondering what the hell is a Vision Quest? A Vision Quest is a journey in Nature in order to receive an insight (a vision) on the topic desired. Why do a Vision Quest My Vision Quest was for a vision on the next steps to take in my business. I also wanted to dismantle some mental patterns that seemed to regularly pull me back in a lack mentality. You know, that thing you thought you dealt with already! What seems to be the recurring pattern in your life you’d like to move beyond? How to plan your Vision Quest So I pick the dates I was going to go away. I was undecided between 2 or 3 days. I figured that 2 days might be best for me since it was my first time doing an almost authentic Vision Quest. In a real Vision Quest, one goes in nature …
